Why Choose Registered Massage Therapy?

When it comes to managing pain and promoting healing, registered massage therapy is a trusted and proven approach. It combines skillful touch and therapeutic techniques to address a wide range of conditions and improve the body's natural healing abilities.

How Registered Massage Therapy Can Benefit You:

Pain Relief: Our registered massage therapists are trained to target specific areas of pain and discomfort, helping to alleviate chronic pain conditions such as back pain, neck pain, migraines, and sports injuries.

Stress Reduction: Experience the power of relaxation as our therapists use gentle and soothing techniques to reduce stress, anxiety, and tension. Massage therapy promotes the release of endorphins, the body's natural mood-enhancing chemicals, leaving you feeling calm and rejuvenated.

Enhanced Recovery: Whether you're recovering from an injury or seeking to optimize your athletic performance, registered massage therapy can aid in faster recovery by improving blood circulation, reducing inflammation, and promoting the elimination of toxins.

Improved Range of Motion: Our skilled therapists employ techniques that release muscle tension, increase flexibility, and improve joint mobility. This can be especially beneficial for individuals with limited mobility or those looking to enhance their overall physical performance.

Holistic Wellness: Registered massage therapy takes a holistic approach to wellness, considering the interconnectedness of the body, mind, and spirit. It promotes balance and harmony, supporting your overall well-being and helping you achieve optimal health.

Swedish Massage

This is a technique that focuses on relaxation, release of stress and improving circulation. It focuses on long flowing strokes, kneading and friction. It may involve passive and active movements of the joints.

Trigger Point Therapy

Trigger point release is a myofascial technique that involves locating and treating small, concentrated areas of excess muscle activity and tenderness. They may feel like nodules within muscle tissues and can be very painful.

Fascial Techniques

Fascial techniques focus the connective tissues of the body, which surround muscles, nerves, joints. These tissues normally slide over one another, but can thicken, contract, and adhere in ways that limit movement and cause pain.

Joint Mobilizations

Mobilizations target the capsule, ligaments, and muscles at a particular joint to improve health and range-of-motion.

How does it work

The RMT uses lotion or oil on the skin, kneading, wringing, tapping, vibrations, and gliding their fingertips, palms, and forearms. Pressure can be light or deep, broad or specific, depending on your treatment goals.

The Benefits

Swedish massage techniques are versatile and can be energizing or relaxing to the client’s nervous system, depending on how they are applied. These techniques are well-known for improving local circulation and relieving excess muscle tension, but can also be applied to a variety of other conditions like bronchitis and constipation.

How does it work

The RMT locates trigger points during both assessment and treatment, then releases them through sustained compression, rolling movements, and other techniques. Aftercare using warm hydrotherapy is important to ensure circulation to the affected area for healthy muscle cell activity.

The Benefits

Trigger points can be caused by chronic stress, muscle overuse, injuries, and other problems, and can muscle weakness, tension headaches, postural changes and imbalances, and painful movement. Treating trigger points relieves the pain and restores freedom of movement within the affected muscle.

Fascial Techniques

How does it work

These techniques are performed without oil or lotion, allowing the RMT to find restrictions and adhesions in the fascia, which are then released with slow, sustained pressure. The RMT may add a stretch to deepen the treatment.

The Benefits

Injuries, inflammation, and habitual postures can damage fascia, causing adhesions, fibrosis, nerve compression, and scarring that limit movement and function. Releasing these adhesions and promoting functional fascial movement provides pain relief and improves movement.

Joint Mobilizations
Joint Mobilizations

How does it work

Mobilizations are used to treat pain and reduced movement in any joint in the limbs or spine. The RMT places the joint so that the ligaments and joint capsule are lax, then positions their hands to take up the slack in the joint and apply pressure or tension in a particular direction. Sustained pressure and rhythmic motion can both be used and the applied force varied to achieve the desired benefits.

The Benefits

Joint restrictions can result from injuries and osteoarthritis, among other conditions. Mobilization techniques help reduce the signals from pain receptors in the joint, stretch the joint capsule and ligaments, and use the body’s own reflexes to relax excess muscle tone and relieve spasms around a joint.
